My favourite season

We all have an opinion about seasons and every season has a good thing about it. Personally I hate summer but the good things about it are: summer nights; you can still wearing a t-shirt if you want it. Winter is nice, but I hate staying at home because of the boiling rain outside and spring is nice, but I cannot stand allergies!
Autumn is by far my favorite season. I love this season because of the leaves with different tones of green, yellow, red and brown. It has warm weather; cold in the morning and sunny in the afternoon, so you have not to stay home.

The good thing about it is everything, I mean; I think leaves in the trees or in the ground look so beautiful for me and I do not think there are bad things about it. It is perfect for me.

In autumn I use to go to a park near my boyfriend’s house. It is beautiful! It is full of different kind of trees and the wind makes the leaves fall and it looks like rain of leaves; it is marvelous, it could stay there forever.

Haircuts!

I have always used long hair in my life and my mom has always being my personal hairdresser. When I was a child some people used to call me “Pocahontas” because of my long black hair and my mom said it was beautiful till I started to wash it xD.
Ok, it was all the same and I started to get bored of my long hair. So, when I was 15, I decided to cut my hair and I told my mom about it (she was going to do it of course). But this haircut has not to be an ordinary haircut, it has to be an extreme change for me; I passed to have a long hair to a short mane.
I chose a haircut but my classmates started to make fun of me since I had the same haircut tan the Singer Rihanna in that time jaja.

This is a picture of Rihanna for you to see the haircut we both had. At first the fact that my classmates used to make fun of it never really matters for me, I loved to have that haircut but I started to miss my long hair, so here I am, waiting for my hair to grow.

Teachers are forced to feed students

Many teachers (83%) see their students going to school hungry and 55% of them go to school without eating enough food, and the sad reason of it is that families are heated by the economic crisis and unemployment affecting children and their education.
In a survey made by online Guardian Teacher Network show that the 49% of 591 teachers in Britain bring fruits and food to give children who have not had breakfast and the 17% of them give them money to buy something to eat.

Dr Clare Gerada chairman of the Royal College of GPs, support free breakfast for children in schools: "Providing free school breakfast to those eligible for free school meals would be a start. Though clearly it would not address the underlying issue of poverty, [it] would at least mean that children from poor families would not jeopardise their chances of learning." She said.

The pupils affected by poorness are feeling tired and unwell; teachers had ovserbed lack of concentration, tiredness and changes in children’s behavior which is very shocking for the president of the National Association of Head Teachers who says: "The survey results are quite shocking. I can believe that it's a growing problem. I've seen it in my school. A child who's arriving at school hungry and tired can't learn. Free school breakfasts could help tackle that. They would be a way forward."

I wish I could go back in time...

When I was a child I loved to watch cartoons as every kid. The fact is I liked to spent my time playing outside, but when I was watching TV I choose to watch lots of great cartoons and TV shows for children like “El Chavo del 8”, “Dragon Ball Z”, Angel”, “Arnold” and others. I do not know if there is a favorite one but now I will choose “Sailor Moon”. I use to watch it when I was about 7 but I still watching it now because I download the chapters from internet. I used to watch it with my sister, friends or alone; the important thing was to watch it!
Sailor Moon was really special for me, I think it was cool for me because girls finally had women as super heroes, destroying the bad guys and still being girly jaja. Serena and the sailor scouts fight for peace in Tokio and they teach us that we must fight for our dreams with love. Serena is the main character and she is really funny and she is in loved with Tuxedo mask who is our first platonic love xD.

I think I still liking it just the same way I did when I was a child, but now I have another view of couse. I find very interesting the fact they represented the Universe fighting for Earth. When I watch it I feel very melancholic about the past. I wish I could be child again and dream the way I did before.

Technology

Ok I won't lie, I am not that techno fan but I have to pretend I love technology with all my heart or I will get a bad mark.

My chosen piece of technology is my notebook. I got it last year when I entered to the University, and I bought it with the help of my mom as a necessary tool for University and its assignments. I like the fact it help me to do University assignments but also entertainment It is an useful tool for me, it has lots of interesting things like internet, music, videos, images and games. I love the fact I can upload my drawings or learn how to play a song I like with my bass guitar. I use it often because I spend my time in my bedroom, I do not watch many TV so I always have my notebook on, I use it to do an assignment, surfing on internet, watch a movie or listen to music.

I think my life would be better without so much technology (my mp3 is my loyal companion so it is the exception) because I would be able to do more things like drawing and playing more the bass guitar. I am convinced that if people do not have all these technology we all would be more sociable and kinder.

A black cat

I have to say it was hard for me to choose a single picture I love because I like different kinds of art, so I know lots of artwork and beautiful pictures taken from unknown artists out there.
After a while thinking over it I thought it was better to choose one of my personal shots.

This is my beautiful black cat, Flaca. This photo was taken by me in my bedroom when I was playing with her one day in October, last year. I think it is beautiful and it is kind of special because it was the first time she let me take her a picture (she gets nervous when she sees the camera and she starts moving all the time so I always ending up giving in). Ok, as I said before it was the first time she let me take her a picture and she seems lovely with the green scarf around her and her green eyes. Her looking is so peaceful and full of love. Actually she is like that, very patient with kids and friendly with everybody.
I have been receiving good comments about this picture and I am glad about that. I hope you like as I do too.

Svenska drömmar...

If you ask me which country I would like to go I'll say I would like to know Chile and then, other countries but if I have to choose another country I would like to visit Sweden.

I think I would like to visit Sweden because of their culture and its stunning green areas and historic places and I would really like to learn Swedish; the official language. I would go to Gothenburg, because I have heard a lot about this city; it is full of museums, restaurants, cafeterias and there is the Opera Theatre of Gothenburg, where I would watch concerts of Opera, ballet and others which I find very interesting. Also my favorite bands are from Sweden, so I would like to go there to go and visit the pubs or bars where bands played before they became famous. It would be great to know the Metal scene there live.

I think I would like go there just on vacations, and if I like the place and people I would like to live and work there for a long time till I miss too much my family and friends.

Something Centaur

I have to say I like the topic, I feel interested of mythology creatures and when I read the assignment I already had a choice; Centaurs.

A Centaur is a creature part human and part horse in the Greek mythology. There are many theories about their origins and the most common is the one which holds the idea of nomads who were riding their horses in America, so Aztecs saw them with the idea of a half man half animal around  the forest.

I always get excited when I am watching a film and centaurs appears. I like the idea of this creature of the forest, I feel them so beautiful and pure like a forest guard taking care of its god; Mother Earth.

Better than I expected...

I can perfectly remember the fist concert I went this year. It was set on January, 31st in the Blondie discotheque and the band playing was Amorphis. It was not the first time they came, because they came before with another band Children of Bodom, so it was their first official concert in Chile. It was a really special concert because I met my actual boyfriend talking about Amorphis, so I went there with him (but we were kind of separated during the concert, I did not want to be hugged or something I just wanted to enjoy the concert). We were so excited, we waited so long to see them live.

When we entered to the discotheque I found the stage too small, but the lighting was perfect. I really loved the show, it was so intimate, strong and they played lots of great songs. I have to say I was really impressed of the band because they were very close to the public, I was in the third row and the Tomi Joutsen was 3 metres from me! I really though I could be hit by his dreadlocks when he was headbanging jajaja. Another thing I liked about the band was that they were really kind at people and (I am sure) they were pleased of the fans in here, because Tomi and Esa were looking at each other very impressed the entire concert.

My teenage dream...

I'm not really the kind of person who is always thinking what to be or to do in the future, because all the thing I wanted to do I do not want it anymore. I first remember I wanted to be pediatrician till I stopped playing with dolls, then I wanted to be policewoman but my dad convinced me not to do it... what a wise man jajaja. So, time passed and my likes changed too.

Ok, when I was in high school, people asked me what would I like to be and I always said "I want to be a rock star!" Yes, I know it is not possible for me but at 16 it was cool thinking I would play bass in a band. I dreamed with the idea of being in a band, going to metal gigs, knowing the entire country and knowing metalheads in those places. I thought I would work with friends 5 days a week and resting when I wanted to. I remeber I wanted to be like Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy or Rachel van Mastrigt-Heyzer from Sinister (picture). . . I was so brutal and mean jajaja.

I have to admit I still thinking that having a band would be cool, but if I had it I would look for the opportunity of going to Sweden and marry a hot Swedish metalhead xD

There are ghosts around us. . .

"Ghost Whisperer" is about Melinda Gordon, an owner of an antique store who has the ability to see and communicate with ghosts, dead people who can't leave this world, so she helps them to solve their unfinished business and cross over into the light. Of course she has his life, she is married with Jim, a firefighter who has not can not see ghosts but adore her and support her in every way. She also has collaborators who help ghosts too; Andrea Marino, Melinda's best friend who runs the antique shop with her and Rick Payne, a professor at Rockland University.

I love this TV show, it is hard to find series which talk about ghosts seer and I found it interesting to know about, because I believe in energy around us; good and evil.

As I say before, I found it interesting to know about energy and lost spirits in earth, and there are seers like Melinda who tries to help them cross over. I also love the way she does not mention nothing about God, Satan or religions; she talks about good and evil energies around us every day, but we should not renegade them because they are real and some of them are lots and need help to rest in peace.

Movies!

Today I am going to talk about movies; I do not know if I have a favorite one, there are lots of fantastic movies out there.

One of my favorite movies is Forrest Gump. The film was based on a novel "Forrest Gump" written by Winston Groom. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis, with Tom Hanks as Forrest, wich is also one of my favorite actors.

I do not really remember the first time I saw it, I was a child and I founded on TV. Oh, dear. I saw it so many times! I think the story is very touching and griping. I think if you have time to see it without move, you could laugh and cry after a few minutes. Ok, that is what happened to me, I felt so emotive and happy that I wanted to watch it every day. I have to say with Forrest Gump I learned my first sentences in English; I watched it so many times that I learnt and memorized by hear several dialogues in English, something I had never though that I could do.

Culture Clash

Ok, first of all. I'd never heard what "Culture Clash" mean, so I had to make a little research about it.

According to what I read, Culture Clash is when two or more cultures disagree about their believe or way of life.

Globalized world bring us the opportunity to know about the different cultures in the whole world, ok not all of them but you can learn about several cultures, and the truth is that I am really interested in cultures, mostly ancient cultures. Actually, I though if I don't like teaching in the future I would study Antrophology. So I really respect and appreciate different cultures in the world, because all of them have the same objective or gold; the common good.

According of what I found on Internet, one example of Culture Clash could be comparing the Indian culture and the Japanese culture about animals rights. Indian people believe that animals like the cow are sacred so they protect them but people from Japan used to eat a lot of animals, they even eat human fetus!

I am not really the person who refuses to eat animals, I have to say I love eating meat, but I detest abuse against animals, I protect them the way I can because I think they have the feelings we have, but the love they give is just unconditional. Our culture is not very into right animals, but we should worry about empathy and stop being selfish thanking Mother Earth for what we have.

Music is my drug...

Hello again!

Today I'm going to talk about Music, I think music has become so fucking important for me, it has been there for me when I really need it.

Ok, first of all, I love Rock and Metal! I started listening to Rock when I was about 8 years old, when I used to spend my time with my uncle, Mauro. We used to listen Chancho en Piedra and Red Hot Chili Peppers jaja, but  I met Metal at 13 years old. I used to spend my time with my older brother, and one day he said "check this"; it was a video of a band called Arch Enemy, and I just fell in love with the band, so he started to talk me about Metal and he showed me the different genres of Metal and what they meant, he started lending me some discs of other bands, but none of them was like Arch Enemy. Besides in that time I was in the "grunge mood" so the Arch Enemy thing was a personal secret for me xD. When time passed I started to realized that I had more discs of Metal than discs of Grunge, so when I was 15 I recognised myself as a metalhead.

I really love Metal, there are so many genres of Metal, all of them with their own style; Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal, Folk Metal, Simphonic Metal, Doom Metal, Power Metal, Black Metal, and so others . . . I like most of them (I really hate Glam Metal, I find them disgusting... PUAJ!), but I have my favourite genre... Death Metal, but mostly; Swedish Metal, some of my favourite bands are Arch Enemy, At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity. I found a community in where people feel like I do, when they respect what you think, and what you are, I`m so happy of beeing myself. I`m proud of beeing a Metalhead.

Bilingualism

Ok, here we go again.

What does bilingualism means?

Most people know that bilingualism is the ability to speak or write in 2 different languages, and that is right. But I remember that some teacher talked about what bilingualism is; she said that a bilingual person is someone who grew up listening two different languajes. For example, a girl from Chile (Let's name her Ivana xD) meets some beautiful guy from Sweden, and they get married, then they have a child. This baby has a Chilean mother and a Swedish father, so he'll grow up talking two languajes; Spanish and Sweedish. He is a bilingual person, so he can easily talk Spanish or Swedish language in a fluent way. I mean, I'm not saying that teacher is right or wrong, but it caught my attention. You have the chance to choose what you want to believe.

Learning another language can help you in many ways, I think it is always necessary for us to know how to communicate with other people, even if he/she isn't from your country.

About writing...

Hello there, the next task is about what I am doing right know; Writing.

I think I've always liked writing, it's just I've never thought about it before.

Writing is like a therapy for me, is a healthy way of release, a way of conection with myself. So here I am, writing in English.

Do I like English? Yes, I fucking do. Do I know how to write in English? Damn, I'm trying to do it correctly. Actually, I didn't know I could write in English, or at least, to write a coherent paragraph or a entire page. I think getting at the University show me things I never thought I could do. Maybe pressure makes me wake up of certain skills I don't made the most.

I wrote some essays in my mother tongue few years ago when I was in High School, but it wasn't so difficult to make, I think we can write them more easily because we have previous tools we know, but with English we have not the enough tools, so we make mistakes.

I expect to learn how to write correctly in this course, I think it is very important for us, as future teachers, to know English so we could teach in a appropiate way.
